Nicole Renee Laws Simpson, age 36 of Taylorsville, was arrested Saturday following an investigation by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. Simpson was charged with simple assault and misdemeanor child abuse. She was detained without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center. Simpson is scheduled for a August 16th court date.
