According to a press release from the North Wilkesboro Police Department:
On Sunday, April 26, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Sergeant Adam Whitley with the North Wilkesboro Police Department was patrolling N.C. Highway 268 when he observed a white in color Infinity G37 (passenger car) traveling West at a high rate of speed in a 45 mph speed zone.
“Sergeant Whitley obtained a radar clock on the vehicles speed of 106 mph !
Officer Whitley began pursuit of the vehicle with lights and siren activated. The suspect vehicle continued west on Hwy 268 at high rate of speed and then made a right turn onto N.C. Hwy 18, heading North. The vehicle then made a right turn onto Mountain View Road and then a left turn onto Mulberry Creek Road, then a left onto Haymeadow Church Road. The vehicle continued, making a left turn onto Yellow Banks Road and then a left turn onto Elledge Mill Road. Sergeant Whitley backed off of the pursuit on Elledge Mill Road, as other Officers were staged on N.C. Hwy 18 at the west end of Elledge Mill Road.”
“Wilkes County Communications Center radioed to Sergeant Whitley that a witness had called in and observed a white Infinity passenger car stop at a location on John McGrady Road with three males exiting the vehicle.
“NWPD Officers, Wilkes County Sheriffs Office Deputies and Troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol arrived at the area and found three males walking away from the white Infinity G37 car.”

The two passengers were released
