Wilkes County Teacher Steps Down After Being Charged With Attempted Sexual Activity With A Student

A Wilkes County teacher has resigned after being charged with 10 counts of indecent liberties with a child and five counts of attempted sexual activity with a student.

David Lee Gregory, 40, taught at North Wilkes High School. He turned himself in on Friday, May 31 and was released after posting a $150,000 bond.

Gregory has been employed with Wilkes County Schools as an exceptional children’s teacher and coach since 2005. He was assigned to both North Wilkes Middle School and North Wilkes High.
