Wilkes County Monument Vandalized

Vandalism to a Revolutionary War statue and Civil War memorial to Confederate soldiers is under investigation in Wilkesboro. Red spray paint was used to write the word “genocide” on a statue of Col. Ben Cleveland on Friday night, police say. A memorial to Wilkes County Confederate soldiers was vandalized with “attack” in capital letters. Wilkesboro Police are investigating.
