Randy Alan Dillard
Randy Alan Dillard age 34 of Hays, entered a plea in Wilkes Superior Court last week to three counts of attempted murder. He also pleaded guilty to assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, habitual misdemeanor assault and communicating threats.
The charges date back to 2023 when Dillard forced a female to remain at his home in Hays. One of the three counts of attempted murder resulted from Dillard stripping the victim, pouring water on her, binding her with electrical wiring and inserting the wire into an electrical outlet.
Two counts of attempted murder resulted from occasions when Dillard strangled the victim until she passed out. While the victim was passed out, Dillard pulled out one of her thumbnails with pliers.
After a period of around 24 hours, the victim was able to escape.
Dillard was arrested by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office on May 31, 2023, after Deputies were called to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin in reference to an assault on a female.
Dillard served a prison term from from November 2021 to March 2023 for assault on a law enforcement officer causing physical injury and resisting arrest.
