Wilkes County Man Enters Plea In Sexual Assault Case

A Wilkes County man will serve 94 months to 234 months (7. 8 years to 19.5 years) in prison after he entered an Alford Plea on two counts of second-degree sexual offense in Wilkes Superior Court on July 29. An Alford plea is defined as the defendant not admitting guilt but accepting that the prosecution has sufficient evidence to convict them.

Dustin Franklin Terrell, 24, of Millers Creek, was indicted on two counts of first-degree sexual offense with a child but entered a plea to a lesser offense as part of a plea agreement.

The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office received a call on October 26, 2023, referencing a sexual assault in Millers Creek.

According to court records, the offenses occurred in June 2014.
