Wilkes County Man Charged With Assaulting Neighbor With Lawnmower

A man from Wilkes County has been charged with running his neighbor over with a lawnmower during an argument.

65-year old Kenneth Ray Hodges of Purlear is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and malicious assault in secret.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 7th in Western Wilkes County.

Reports state that Hodges and his neighbor, Rickie Robert Faw, 65, were mowing their adjacent lawns. The two men had allegedly been involved in a dispute and drove their lawn tractors toward each other and collided. Faw was knocked to the ground as the result of the collision. Hodges allegedly pushed Faw down an embankment.

Faw was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Hodges was placed in the Wilkes County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000.
