Wilkes County Fatal Fire Investigation Continues

The badly burned human remains found after a camper fire in Wilkes County has still not been identified.

As earlier reported, on the morning of Tuesday, November 12th units from Wilbar and Millers Creek Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire at 756 Water Fall Road in the Millers Creek community. Upon arrival fireman observed a travel trailer fully involved. The fire was contained and extinguished.

The corpse was located in the camper. An original autopsy has failed to confirm and identity. The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, Wilkes County Fire Marshall, and NC SBI continue to investigate.
