Christian Tyler Jordan, age 23 of Millers Creek, was arrested Sunday by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and charged with animal cruelty, communicating threats and resisting a public officer.
Owners of the animal told investigators that an unknown man had climbed into their goat pen, punched and threw their goat against the wall before passing-out in the pen. Deputies awakened the man whom they say became unruly before attempting to flee on foot.
Jordan was placed in the Wilkes County Detention Center with bond listed at $27,500.
Jordan has previous charges pending in Wilkes County that include driving while impaired, flee to arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving with wanton disregard, driving with license revoked and probation violation.
The goat was not seriously injured.
