Wilbar – On Monday, April 15, at approximately 12:50 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Wilkes County on NC 16 near Misty Jump Lane in Wilkes County. A 2014 Triumph motorcycle was traveling north on NC 16 when the driver drove off the right side of the road and struck the guardrail.
The driver of the motorcycle, Terry Warfield Spainhour, 70, of Clemmons, was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The initial investigation does not indicate excessive speed or impairment to be contributing factors in the collision. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.
