OLD FORt: An “out of control” wildfire has been reported on Bat Cave Road in Old Fort, prompting an evacuation order for nearby residents, according to McDowell County Emergency Management.

The fire, which authorities say started after a tree fell on a power line, is currently burning in the 3500 block of Bat Cave Road. The wildfire is currently at 0% containment, per McDowell County Emergency Management.
