West Wilkes High School has announced that Dwayne Berrier will lead the Blackhawk football program. Coach Berrier is a familiar face on West sidelines, and we are excited to see him step into this leadership role.
A 1994 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 1998 graduate of Catawba College, Coach Berrier brings more than 26 years of teaching and coaching experience to the program. His career has spanned South Rowan, Alleghany, East Wilkes, and North Wilkes before he joined the West Wilkes family in 2022.
Coach Berrier is eager to get to work, noting that West Wilkes is defined by its leadership, hardworking student-athletes, and a community that truly shows up.
“I am excited to continue being a part of those traditions in a new role,” Berrier shared. His vision for the program is to build on our recent success by emphasizing commitment and high expectations. The goal is simple: to develop successful young men on the field and throughout the community.
