A potential winter storm could impact the area Wednesday and Wednesday night, bringing a possible wintry mix to much of the region.
Confidence is slowly increasing as to the timing of the precipitation across the area, but confidence remains low as to the precipitation type and amount. The best chance for significant impacts appears to be across the northern foothills, northwest Piedmont and the central mountains of North Carolina, while the lower chance appears to be across the Lakelands and lower Piedmont areas of northeast Georgia and Upstate South Carolina.
