Watauga clinched the Northwestern Conference Football Championship Friday night in Boone by rolling over Freedom. With the win, the Pioneers are 10-0 on the season and 6-0 in league play.
Watauga quarterback Anderson Castle ran for 182 yards including an 82 yard scoring run to lead Watauga. All that remains in the way of a perfect regular season for the Pioneers is a game next Friday against 0-10 West Caldwell. With the loss, Freedom drops to 8-2 and 5-1 in conference play.
