Input For Walk & Bike Alexander County Transportation Plan Is Encouraged

May 19, 2026 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Walk & Bike Alexander County Multimodal Transportation Plan presents a long-term vision for a safer, more connected, and more accessible bicycle and pedestrian network throughout the county. The plan outlines recommended infrastructure improvements, supportive policies, and programs to improve walkability and bikeability across both established communities and rural areas.

As Alexander County continues to grow and change, this plan will serve as a roadmap for making strategic investments in active transportation. By strengthening links between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and commercial destinations, the plan seeks to make walking and biking not only more feasible but also more enjoyable.

The public is encouraged to review the draft plan and submit comments or suggestions https://alexandercountync.gov/…/walk-and-bike…
