Unemployment Rates Listed For November

Despite slight increases in the month of November, unemployment rates across the region remain at or near historic all-time lows. The North Carolina Department of Commerce released the latest figures showing the Alexander County unemployment rate at 2.9 percent up from 2.8 in October.

Caldwell was at 3.6 up from 3.3 in October
Catawba was at 3.1 unchanged from October
Iredell was at 3.1 up from 3.0 in October
Wilkes was at 3.3 up from 3.2 in October

The state rate was listed at 3.5 percent, up from 3.4.

The highest unemployment rate in the state belongs to Scotland County at 6.6 percent, the lowest in Buncombe County at 2.7.
