Two Women Facing Weapons Offenses

Two women from Catawba County were taken into custody this morning on weapons charges.

27 year old Ashleigh ADRIEONA Young of Conover was arrested by Hickory Police and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, probation violation, resisting a public officer, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $40,000.

28 year old Keyona SHAWANTAE Byrd of Newton was also arrested by Hickory Police. She is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $25,000.

Both suspects have court appearances scheduled for Wednesday, November 14th in Newton.
