Two Taylorsville Residents Face Drug Trafficking Counts

As the result of a Wednesday night traffic stop in Alexander County two people face felony drug trafficking charges. The NC Highway Patrol arrested and charged the following:

Christopher Eugene McCrary, age 45 of Taylorsville is charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony possession of heroin, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. McCrary is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with bond set at $200,000.
Chanda Rae Wortman, age 37 of Taylorsville is charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony possession of heroin, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wortman is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with bond set at $200,000.

Both suspects are scheduled to make initial court appearances in Alexander County District Court on Monday, August 18th.
