Two men apparently suffered accidental gunshot wounds following an incident Sunday afternoon in Alexander County.
The men, identified as brothers were inspecting a pistol when it discharged striking one in a knee and the other in the buttocks. The incident is reported to have occurred around 2pm at a location off Herman Road. Alexander County EMS transported one of the victims to an area hospital. The other was airlifted to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Neither of the gunshot wounds were considered to be life-threatening.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office indicates they have no suspicion of foul-play and no charges have been filed.
