Two men have been charged after an alleged violent altercation on Saturday night in North Wilkesboro.
Michael Anthony Cole Davis, 38, of Weaverville, and Jesse Lee Williams, 38, North Wilkesboro, were both charged with felony assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill and simple affray.
According to a press release:
On Saturday, April 11th, at approximately 10:20 p.m. the North Wilkesboro Police Department was dispatched to 1602 Second Street regarding an individual who had sustained a laceration to their arm and stomach.
According to the arresting officer, a subject identified as Jesse Williams was cut with a knife by Michael Davis during an altercation on Hwy 268 below Flint Hill Road. “Williams then struck Davis in the head with a piece of iron re-bar.”
Both subjects were treated for injuries by Wilkes EMS and transported to Wilkes Atrium Medical Center for treatment.
Davis was released from Wilkes Hospital early Sunday morning and arrested by North Wilkesboro Police Department.
Warrants were issued on Williams, to be served after he was released from medical treatment.
