Troutman Woman Arrested After Vehicle Chase With Child In Car

22-year-old Jordan Dion Williams of Troutman was arrested Monday (October 2) by Troutman Police Officers. She’s charged with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle along with misdemeanor counts of child abuse and possession of stolen goods. Williams was also charged with traffic offenses including speeding, aggressive driving, driving while license revoked, and fictitious or altered title, registration card, or tag.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday an officer stopped a Nissan Altima on South Main Street for speeding. As the officer exited his patrol car the vehicle fled from the traffic stop. Troutman officers began to pursue the vehicle on Main Street and then onto Perth Road.

A deputy with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was able to successfully deploy spike strips on Perth Road which led to the vehicle stopping. Upon taking the driver, Jordan Williams, into custody officers found that her one-year-old child was in the vehicle during the time of the pursuit.
Troutman officers were contacted by the Mooresville Police Department and informed that they had just taken a report indicating that Williams had stolen the license plate displayed on her vehicle in their jurisdiction. Williams was taken into custody.

Due to the fact that she was already out on bond on a weapon charge, Williams was initially ordered to be held without bond until appearing before a District Court judge. Her bond has since been set at $15,000 secured. Williams remained in jail as of earlier today.
