Town Of Taylorsville Releases Information On Wastewater Overflow

The Town of Taylorsville experienced a discharge of untreated wastewater on Thursday, August 8th during the heavy rain from Tropical Storm Debby.

General Statute 143-215.1C requires that the owner or operator of any wastewater collection or treatment works to issue a press release when an untreated wastewater discharge of 1,000 gallons or more reaches surface waters.

In accordance with this regulation, the following information has been released:

The Paul Payne Pump Station located at 1428 Paul Payne Store Rd had an overflow of 16,000 gallons of untreated wastewater discharge into the Glade Creek of the Catawba River Basin on Thursday, August 8th during the heavy rains.

State Authorities have been informed.
