Savoy was charged with five counts of felony trafficking M.D.M.A. Maddox and Ramseur were each charged with felony counts of trafficking M.D.M.A. by possession, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance. Maddox was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
Investigators began looking into the distribution of M.D.M.A. (or, Ecstasy) after receiving information about a then-unknown female distributing large amounts of Ecstasy throughout Iredell County and within the Statesville city limits. Narcotics Investigators identified Deannea Rochell Savoy as the distributor. They were able to purchase over 1,800 dosage units of Ecstasy directly from her.
Through undercover surveillance operations, Investigators verified that Savoy visited a residence on North Lackey Street in Statesville and met with Maddox prior to or directly after selling various amounts of Ecstasy, indicating that Maddox was directly involved in the distribution of narcotics. Last Friday (December 3), investigators executed a search warrant at the residence.
During the search, Officers found approximately 164.6 grams of T.H.C.-infused edibles and a handgun. Outside the home was a vehicle owned by Ramseur and regularly operated by Maddox. The vehicle was searched, leading to the seizure of 158 dosage units of M.D.M.A.
Maddox was given a $200,000 secured bond. Savoy’s bond was set at $300,000, secured, and Ramseur was issued a $50,000 unsecured bond. All three suspects will appear in District Court on December 20.
The estimated value of the Ecstasy pills seized is between $20,420 and $40,840.
