Teen From Taylorsville Arrested

19-year old Noah Lee Groover of Taylorsville has been charged with assault by strangulation and assault-communicating threats. He was arrested on Sunday by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and placed without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center. Groover appeared in Alexander County District Court on Monday. He was cited for contempt of court and had bond set at $85,000. He remains in jail as of earlier today.

Groover has multiple counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle along with a larceny charge awaiting trial in Alexander County. His next court date on those charges is set for September 18th. A Catawba County charge of injury to real property is scheduled for court on September 7th along with a pending felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious bodily injury. The assault charge was filed in Mecklenburg County and is scheduled for trial on September 5th.
