Isaiah Clayton Owens
Around 10pm, North Wilkesboro Police responded to Smoot Park after reports of shots being fired. Witnesses stated that a male subject operating a blue Toyota Highlander drove by the skate park and fired a gun from the driver’s side window, then fled North on Second Street. Another male subject at the skate park returned fire at the suspect’s car. During the investigation, Officers learned that a male subject was receiving treatment at Atrium Wilkes Medical Center for a gunshot wound. The wounded subject has been identified as Isaiah Clayton Owens, age 18, of North Wilkesboro. Owens has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
A suspect vehicle which had multiple bullet holes, was located unoccupied on Fairmount Drive in North Wilkesboro.
