Tina May Orton, age 55 of Taylorsville, was arrested Friday morning by the Hickory Police Department. She is charged with three counts of misdemeanor child abuse and injury to personal property. Orton is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a bond of $5,000. A Monday, January 24th court date is scheduled in Newton.
