Tara Leann Smiley
According to a press release, a vehicle was stopped for traveling on the wrong side of the roadway at the intersection of US Highway 64 and Golf Course Lane. The driver was identified as Jada Smiley of Taylorsville. While speaking with the driver, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located 9.44 grams of methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Smiley is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond listed at $20,000.
