Taylorsville Police Nab Wilkes County Man

On March 31st, an Officer with the Taylorsville Police Department observed a vehicle traveling on Liledoun Road displaying a fictitious license plate (not registered to the vehicle). A traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was identified as Eric David Cad McAlister, age 38 of McGrady (Wilkes County). A license check revealed that Mr. McAlister’s driver’s license was suspended, with multiple pending charges for Driving While License Revoked (DWLR). He was taken into custody.

During a search incident to arrest, officers located a baggie containing methamphetamine in Mr. McAlister’s possession. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of multiple uncapped needles and additional drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, McAlister was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center, where he was taken before a magistrate.
Mr. McAlister was charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Driving While License Revoked (DWLR)

He was also issued citations for fictitious tag and revoked registration.
