Alexander County Man Who Served 14 Years In Prison Is Arrested Again

James Ashley Sweet, age 44 of Taylorsville, was arrested on Tuesday by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He was served failure to appear warrants from 2023 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sweet remains in the Alexander County Detention Center.

Sweet was released from prison in August of 2023 after serving a 14 year sentence for a series of convictions including felony breaking and entering and larceny and felony larceny of motor vehicles.
