Taylorsville Man Listed On Sex-Offender Registry Taken Into Custody

Casey Ryan Shumake, age 38 of Taylorsville, was arrested on Wednesday by Probation and Parole Officers in Alexander County. He was charged with felony parole violation and placed in the county jail without bond.

Shumake was convicted in 2024 on charges of indecent liberties with a minor in Alexander County. He served 7 months in prison and is listed on the NC Sex-Offender Registry. Shumake was placed on parole in February following his release from prison.
