Taylorsville Man Jailed After Pointing Firearm At Alexander County Deputies

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 3rd, the Alexander County Sheriff’s made an arrest involving an armed suspect.

45-year-old Jonathan Anthony St John of Paul Payne Store Road, Taylorsville allegedly pointed a firearm at a female. When deputies arrived he then is reported to have pointed to weapon at the officers.

St John is charged with:

Assault by pointing a gun
Three counts of Felony assault on law enforcement officer with a firearm

The suspect remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond listed at $250,000. A first appearance is scheduled for today in district court in Taylorsville.
