A Taylorsville man was taken into custody on Thursday, January 8th for violating his probation. 32-year old Paul Maurice Payne is charged with probation violations in both Alexander and Catawba County. He is serving a suspended sentence issued in 2024 for possession of schedule II controlled substance in Catawba County and child abuse in Alexander County. Payne is being held under a secured bond of $10,000.
