Taylorsville Man Gets Prison Sentence For Meth Trafficking

A Taylorsville man is serving a minimum of five years in prison after entering a plea for trafficking methamphetamine in Alexander County Superior Court.

42-year-old Matthew Byron Wood was arrested on April 4, 2024 along with other suspects by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and Taylorsville Police. After the plea agreement, Wood was given a sentence of 70-93 months or (five-years, ten months) to (seven years, nine months).

Wood is being held in the Piedmont Correctional Facility in Salisbury.
