Taylorsville Man Charged With Statutory Rape Makes Court Appearance Today

A Taylorsville man charged with statutory rape is scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court today.

On Friday, Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 20-year old Dustin Ray Townsend. He was charged with statutory rape of a child by an adult. The charges are the result of an investigation that dates back to January.

Townsend remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $250,000.
