Hickory Police have charged a Taylorsville man following an incident Saturday evening. 20-year-old Connor Lamar Ashford was placed in the Catawba County Jail Sunday morning on charges that include assault with a deadly weapon, injury to real property, interfering with emergency communication, possession of marijuana and resisting a public officer. Ashford is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday in Newton.
