James Edward Peoples
Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 127. The vehicle was spotted, blue lights and siren were activated but the driver refused to stop. Following a brief chase, 69-year old James Edward Peoples pulled his vehicle over. He refused to cooperate with deputies and a brief exchange ensued.
Peoples is charged with flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, aggressive driving, and multiple counts of resisting a public officer. He was released from custody under a $1,500 bond. Peoples has an Alexander County District Court date set for March 14th.
