Taylorsville Man Busted On Felony Drug Charge For Second-Time In Less Than A Week

A Taylorsville man has been arrested again on drug charges. Jeffrey Lynn Mays, age 45, was detained on Monday by Taylorsville Police and charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mays was arrested last week (August 21st) by Alexander Sheriff’s Deputies and charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released the next day on bond. Following Monday’s arrest, Mays is being held without bond pending a first court appearance.

Mays has a long list of previous charges that include felony common law robbery, accessory after the fact of common law robbery, felony probation violations, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and driving with license revoked.

In Surry County, Mays awaits trial for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony larceny of a firearm and injury to personal property.
