Christopher Eugene McCrary, 45, of Taylorsville, made an appearance in Catawba County Superior Court on Monday. He is charged in Catawba County with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. The charges date back to 2025. McCrary was returned to Alexander County custody where he awaits a long list of 2025 charges that include felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony possession heroin felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of methamphetamine and other drug related offenses. Bond in Alexander County is $500,000.
