On September 10th, at approximately 9:13 PM, a Taylorsville Police officer located a suspect vehicle at Murphy’s in connection to a larceny and felony obtaining property by false pretenses that had occurred at Walmart on August 30th, 2025.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Abigail Dixon of Valdese, refused to provide identification to officers. After being instructed to exit the vehicle, Dixon refused, leading to a brief struggle with officers before she was taken into custody. Dixon denied knowing who had used her vehicle during the crime, claiming she had allowed an unknown homeless man to use it.
Dixon was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center, where she was charged with Resisting Arrest and given a $1,000 secured bond. Later that evening, deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office encountered and identified Dakota Deal of Taylorsville as a suspect in the investigation. While in custody, Dixon used jail phones to contact Deal. During a search by detention staff, Dixon assaulted an officer.
