Stony Point Man Serving Suspended Sentence Is Arrested And Charged Again

David Earl Welch, age 36 of Stony Point, was taken into custody on Monday in Alexander County and charged with felony probation violation and resisting arrest. He’s being held without bond because in July, he was given a 30 month suspended sentence in Iredell County for felony possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance

Welch is awaiting trial on previous charges in Alexander County for failure to report a child disappearance and child abuse. He is facing charges in Catawba County for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and larceny.
