Stony Point Man Arrested On Felony Drug Charge

A Stony Point man is facing a felony drug charge after his Halloween arrest. 33-year old Alexander James Welborn was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. He’s being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled for District Court on Monday in Taylorsville.

Welborn has a previous pending charge of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance in addition to charges of injury to personal property and second-degree trespass.
