Stony Point Man Arrested After Iredell County Traffic Stop

In the early hours of Saturday, January 4, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a traffic stop on a Hyundai Sonata near the intersection of Wilkesboro Highway and Ellenburg Drive.

The vehicle’s registered owner, 23-year-old Tristan James Millsaps of Stony Point, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, Deputies detected the odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. This discovery prompted a probable cause search, which uncovered approximately 7.25 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 27.25 grams of marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Millsaps was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with bond listed at $3,000. He is no longer listed in custody and was scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.
