An Iredell County woman is celebrating after winning big with a scratch-off ticket in the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Alicia Mattox, of Statesville, won $277,777 with a “777” scratch-off ticket. Mattox bought the ticket at Yogi Food on Wilkesboro Highway and claimed it in Raleigh on Friday. After state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $196,529 for the winning $5 ticket, according to lottery officials. The game launched in July with two top prizes of $277,777. Mattox won the last top prize.
