Statesville Police Say Armored Car Employee Shot

Statesville Police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting at the CVS pharmacy on Taylorsville Highway. Officers responded to the location shortly after 2pm on Friday.

Two suspects tried to rob an armored car driver as he was exiting the pharmacy. During the confrontation, the armored car guard was shot in the upper torso. He did manage to return fire at the gunmen.

The criminals then jumped into a bronze-colored Dodge Charger and ran from the area.
