The Statesville Police Department has released the name of the driver killed in a crash on Shelton Avenue on Thursday.
Alexander Sheppard, age 30 of Statesville was pronounced dead after his vehicle crashed into C&H Laundry about 10:17 a.m. The crash resulted in a fire that destroyed the building.
The investigation is ongoing. No other injuries were reported.
