Statesville Police Charge Man With Eight Counts Of Statutory Rape

The Statesville Police Department has announced the arrest of Yulian Cardona-Ibarra, age 34 of Statesville.

The department launched an investigation on April 17th after receiving a report that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted on numerous occasions over a two-year period. The juvenile disclosed multiple instances of sexual abuse.

As a result of the investigation, Yulian Cardona-Ibarra was arrested on Monday, April 22nd and charged with eight counts of statutory rape of a child age 15 or younger and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

Cardona-Ibarra is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $200,000.
