Statesville Man Sentenced To Prison

37-year-old Ralph Bunch Washington of Statesville received a minimum prison sentence of just over three years after pleading guilty to multiple offenses during a recent session of Iredell County Superior Court. Washington pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender, indecent liberties with a child and habitual felon status.

Washington was sentenced to 44-113 months, or three years, eight months to nine years, five months in prison. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for his lifetime. Washington was arrested by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on October 25, 2024.

Washington was previously required to register a sex offender as a result of a conviction in New Haven, Connecticut in 2007 for second-degree sexual assault on a minor. He is serving his current sentence at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, N.C.
