Statesville Man Nabbed After Theft At Hotel

45-year old James Clifford Collins Jr. of Statesville was arrested by Statesville Police Police on Monday. He’s charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

On Monday,, Officers responded to the Courtyard by Marriott on Cinema Drive concerning a larceny.
Investigators met with members of a production crew. The production crew stated their equipment and luggage had been left unattended in the hotel’s parking lot for a brief period.

Upon their return to the vehicle, the production crew discovered that their equipment and personal belongings had been stolen.

With assistance from nearby businesses, investigators identified and found the suspect vehicle, a green 2001 Nissan Altima. The suspect was identified as James Clifford Collins, Jr.

Collins was arrested and was issued a $5,000 secured bond.

The stolen equipment was recovered.
