Statesville Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Wilkes County

In Wilkes County, a man shot in the head late Saturday night remains hospitalized and a suspect is in custody under a $1,000,000 secured bond.

Senica Demara Chastine Jr., age 26 of Stateville, has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, according to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday evening at 11:21 p.m. the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Red, White, and Blue Road in the Roaring River Community in reference a shooting. Deputies found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies secured the scene and medical personnel was rushed in to provide care for the victim who was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where they remain in critical condition.
