Statesville Man Arrested On Taylorsville Highway

A man with a Statesville address that lives near the Alexander County line has been arrested by Iredell County Deputies.

Michael Shawn Duncan age 53 was arrested following a Taylorsville Highway traffic stop on Monday. Found in his vehicle, 11.88 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, marijuana, and nine dosage units of CBD gummies. Duncan was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver, manufacture or sell methamphetamine; felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle for the use of a controlled substance, and three misdemeanor drug offenses. He remains in the Iredell County Jail with a secured bond of $100,000.

Duncan’s criminal history includes the following charges misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor resist a public officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor worthless check, two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
